I've only ever travelled through Holyhead en route from Ireland to the UK and back, but I walked around the town a bit with my dog on this trip, and the area around the B&B was nice enough. Beyond that I really can't say as yet, but I'll definitely return.

Not much in the Pier area, very residential.
Not much in the Pier area, very residential. Expect to walk a lot, crossed bridge to City Center for the amenities we were looking for, food & historic sites. 2 days were enough to stay before heading to Dublin on the Ferry.

booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship.
booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship. holyhead itself has little to nothing to offer tourists but as a base to visit other parts of Anglesey its fine. holyhead seems like its been abandoned by the council and needs money spending on it, all the locals we met were lovely and they deserve more.

We visit Holyhead regularly as we travel a lot by ferry. So are usually only there overnight. Busy little town, but normally head for a B & B so do not know town very well, although it looks fine.

No busses or taxies. ( found one by chance when they were collecting a customer late afternoon)No information regarding about restaurants close for meals between 2pm - 4pm. Had to walk to hotel. As not informed about kitchens close at 2pm, our first meal was at 4.30 which we had to walk to . Amazing fish and chips at the local chippy. No interesting sights . Would have been better to have passed through directly to Cardiff.
This is not a salubrious hotel and it does not pretend to be. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable and they provided a typical English breakfast. We used the hotel twice, once before taking the ferry to Ireland (we arrived by train) and once after arriving from Ireland. We took the train back the next day. The hotel is about 150meters from the ferry and train station so it was very convenient. The town is about 1km walk from the hotel and was good to stretch our legs. We found an excellent Indian restaurant where we had dinner.
Kay is the kindest, most amazing, charming lady. We had no idea we were about to stay at a house of someone with such a great energy and lovely spirit. Kay really helped us when we needed to postpone our ferry and let us stay at hers for another night.
Her breakfast buffet is immense and we were nibbling on it throughout the whole day. Something I would appreciate hotels would accommodate! Thank you again for the wonderful experience!
I live in North Wales so I’m fully aware of the beauty of my surroundings, but South Stack is another level entirely. Wonderful accommodation and attentive hosts. Cannot recommend this pod more highly if I tried, walking distance to views that you have to convince your eyes that they’ve actually seen. Two minute car journey to the most amazing beach/cove I’ve ever witnessed - Porth Dafarch.
The room was easy to find, the staff was very helpful in assisting me arriving very late (past midnight) to enter my room. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom, with all the amenities you would expect in a hotel. There was plenty of choice for breakfast provided in the room, which allowed me to leave quickly to get to Folkstone to take the eurotunnel.
The hotel was very close to the train/ferry station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious the only time during my trip I can say I enjoyed English sausage. The room had the largest bathroom we've seen in traveling around Europe and the only roll in 1.
it was a brilliant location for a morning ferry- but I also wish that traffic had allowed me to arrive earlier as it was the perfect place to start exploring Holyhead beyond the docks. Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Brief stay but would visit again.
Fabulous place to stay! I work in holyhead and don't like staying in hotels so I decided to book here. Best place I've stayed in a while. The host was fantastic, easy to communicate with. The place is spotless and I'd recommend it to anyone!
The room was very clean, had a convenient location and the most important thing was that the man who ran the hotel was above and beyond helpful with my taxi rides. I am very grateful for the stay and for the help. Thank you!
Carole was a great host. When I asked about booking a taxi to get to the ferry port, Carole offered to drive me herself! The breakfast was cooked to order and very good. The room was clean and comfortable. Great location.
The Seacroft Hotel has the benefit of a good bar and restaurant facilities all under one roof, unlike many B&B Guest houses!!! So a good beer and an evening meal is available in addition to an excellent breakfast!!!
Good choice of breakfast and good amount. David and Debbie always willing to chat and recommend places to visit. Good location to explore Anglesey and close to main road for trips further afield.
The host was lovely and welcoming. The room was nice, clean and quiet. Perfect location for the ferry at holyhead only a 5 minute drive. Breakfast was delicious.
The management (Jaye) was exceptionally charming and accommodating. The food was great. As strangers in Wales, Jaye watched out for us, and it is appreciated.
